The following priorities shape the design decisions for windows

1) Light penetration into the container

  • The ground level, low roof and potential for shade trees all continribute to restricting natural light pentration into the unit.
2) Security

The following aspects can contribute to feelings of unfamiliarity, vulnerability and insecurity:

  • Moving into a new space and/or neighbourhood has
  • Ground level
3) The exterior can shape the views of how those living inside the house value/think of themselves, and shape the views of onlookers

Window Options

Option #1: Average Joe

Standard 3ft x 4ft sliding → $250

Option #2: Lots-of-light

Cost: 7tf x 6ft → $950 using energy efficient glass


Option #3: Flip-Up Canopy Shutters

Cost: Standard 3ft x 4ft → $300


Option #4: Rolling Shutters

Cost: $300 - $400
